The water had be taken untreated from long irrigation channels and storage ponds and many diseases especially of children were the result.<br \/>\nSince 2008 MENA Water installed five container plants in different villages. Two more followed in 2011. The technology has proven itself in the difficult circumstances of very remote locations and now 5 additional container plants will be built.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a style=\"border: 1px solid #EEEEEE; padding: 4px; float: right; margin-left: 15px; margin-top: 15px; font-weight: bold; color: #36b8c5; width: 200px; background-color: #f6f6f6; border-radius: 10px;\" title=\"Prospekte\" href=\"https:\/\/mena-water.eu\/en\/downloadbereich\/#reference\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right;\" title=\"Prospekte\" src=\"https:\/\/mena-water.eu\/pictures\/info.gif\" alt=\"info\" width=\"50\" height=\"50\" \/> more Information<br \/>\nat Download<\/a>Each system provides 500 m\u00b3 \/ day of pure drinking water, which is taken from local storage lagoons. Lamella settler, sand filters and disinfection ensure consistently high quality of cleaning performance. Since the systems use the principle of gravity, they can be operated many years free of trouble \u2013 even under the difficult conditions in Sudan.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mena-water.eu\/pictures\/s4-halfa3.jpg\" alt=\"Containeranlage\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/elsugya.org\/new\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"margin-left: 5px; margin-top: 25px; align: right; float: right;\" title=\"Charity\" src=\"https:\/\/mena-water.eu\/pictures\/elsugya.gif\" alt=\"elsugya\" width=\"75\" height=\"81\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis container-based drinking water systems were implemented in collaboration with the local NGO Alsoqia.
