Secondary Treatment

Secondary treatment is designed to substantially degrade the biodegradable organic matter and suspended solids which are derived from human waste, food waste, soaps, detergent etc. The majority of municipal plants treat the settled sewage liquor using aerobic biological processes. To be effective, the biota requires both oxygen and food to live. The bacteria and protozoa consume biodegradable soluble organic contaminants (e.g. sugars, fats, organic short-chain carbon molecules, etc.) and bind much of the less soluble fractions into flocs. The final step in the secondary treatment stage is to settle out the biological floc or filter material through a secondary clarifier and to produce sewage water containing low levels of organic material and suspended matter.

Fine & Coarse Bubble Diffuser

Fine bubble diffusers are mainly used for oxygen transfer into biological wastewater treatment. These products can also be used for any kind of transfer of gases into liquids. Diffusers are fixed at the bottom of aeration tanks to produce a huge number of very fine air bubbles. The air bubbles rise to the surface providing enough amount of oxygen to the wastewater.

Mixers

Mixers are widely used in water & wastewater treatment plants for many different applications such as in aeration tanks for better distribution and mixing; sludge tanks to prevent sedimentation; flocculation tanks to make bigger masses etc.

Chain Scraper

The rectangular scraper is designed to remove grease and oil and other floating solids from the surface of the wastewater and settlement tanks. Also settled down solids are removed.

• Chain watch that mechanically prevents the chain from jumping off from the drive wheel, securing an even & failure free operation of the scraper.

Longitudinal Bridge Scraper

Longitudinal Bridge scrapers are designed for desludging and descuming of primary and final settling tanks and can be used as Grit chamber scrapers, sludge scrapers in primary and secondary treatment.

Circular Tank Scraper

Rotating Circular scrapers are designed to remove sludge and scum mainly in final settling tanks. This sludge which has settled down at the bottom is collected by the scraper while floating solids on the surface are collected by the skimmer.

• Low operational, maintenance costs and long lifetime components
• Savings for concrete structures; thinner tank walls and bottom, no need for massive center inlet structure, power supply only to outer tank wall
• Flights are equipped with rubber blades to clean up tank bottom

Scum Removal (Skimmer)

Floating sludge is gathered by a screw conveyor or "floating skimmer" and delivered to a collection container. The total system is designed to accommodate variations in the water level of up to 200mm without difficulty.
